Our staff of compassionate oncology nurses is trained in the administration of cutting edge chemotherapy regimens. Educating patients, our nurses provide them with information and guidance throughout their treatments. Each patient will have a one-on-one detailed chemotherapy education session wih one of our oncology nurses. This session will include discussing the possible side effects of the specific drugs you will receive, as well as the necessary information you will need to avoid any complications associated with the administration of the chemotherapy.

Realizing the importance of a trusting and caring relationship with the patients they treat, our nurses are dedicated to ensuring that each patient’s emotional, as well as physical needs are met. Working with our Oncology Pharmacist, the nurses keep apprised of the latest treatment options available for our patients

Hematology Consultation

Blood disorders comprise a variety of highly complex illnesses involving blood cells, other proteins within the blood and the bone marrow. These include non-malignant diseases such as anemia and polycythemia as well as hematologic cancers such as leukemia and multiple myeloma. Our physicians our experts in these conditions and will guide you through the appropriate testing and evaluation followed by a specialized treatment plan.

Chemotherapy Infusion

With the advent of outpatient chemotherapy infusion centers, many patients with cancer are able to have their entire care provided outside of the hospital setting. This allows improved survival while still maintaining a high quality of life. Our infusion centers are equipped with modern infusion chairs and equipment. Our team of chemotherapy certified nurses are highly experienced in administering both chemotherapy and biologic agents to fight cancer.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies designed to evaluate whether a new treatment or procedure is safe and effective. The knowledge gained through cancer clinical trial research has helped scientists and doctors develop new ways to slow, halt, treat and prevent cancer. Every cancer treatment currently available is the direct result of clinical research. It is important to keep in mind when making a decision regarding clinical trials that they are conducted under rigorous scientific and ethical safeguards, with patient safety being the highest priority. To ensure safety, clinical trials are regulated by federal agencies; along with the Institutional Review Board, an independent committee of doctors, statisticians and community representatives; and the Data Safety and Monitoring Board, a group of doctors, medical ethicists, statisticians and other health professionals.

Genetic Testing

Cancers arise from various factors, some within our control but others beyond our control. It is becoming increasingly clear that there are certain genetic syndromes that can highly increase a person’s chance of developing cancer. With specialized testing that we offer for appropriate people, we can help discover these syndromes and then educate you on how to vastly reduce your chance of developing cancer through appropriate screening and other risk reduction strategies.

Bleeding and Thrombosis Evaluation

There are many conditions, both inherited and acquired, which can predispose people to bleeding or clotting. These are very complicated diseases which require highly specialized physicians to appropriately diagnose and then manage both the condition and its complications. These include disorders such as Hemophilia and Von Willebrands Disease on one end, and deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism on the other. We also help guide patients and their physicians when elective procedures or peri-partum care is required.
